Meredith Used Car Sales & Recycling is owned and operated by Roy and Melissa Meredith of Montrose, Missouri. Lifelong residents of Henry County, Roy and Melissa have worked hard to grow their business from a “one-man” operation to an organization with several employees.
Since 1996, Meredith Recycling has been providing customers with a convenient and reliable method for recycling their unwanted scrap metals. Meredith Recycling buys both ferrous (steel) and non-ferrous metals (aluminum, copper, etc.) Recently, Meredith Recycling has begun recycling electronics.
This helps to keep recyclables out of the landfill, providing a cleaner environment for all. In late 2010, the non-ferrous department, as well as the office, moved into a new and larger building. Non-ferrous customers are now able to unload their recyclables under a roof, protected from the elements. So no matter what the weather (rain, snow, or scorching summer sun) you are protected. In the Fall of 2012, the unloading area for ferrous metals was tripled in size.
It now encompasses 26,000 square feet of concrete surface for unloading customers. The concrete surface is swept multiple times a day to keep the area free from nails and other hazards. Also in the summer of 2013, Meredith Recycling added a fluid removal system for vehicles. Customers are no longer responsible for removing fluids from vehicles before bringing them in for recycling.
Meredith Recycling is a member of ISRI (the Institute for Scrap Recycling Industries), NFIB (National Federation of Independent Business), and the Missouri Farm Bureau. Roy Meredith serves on the Quad Lakes Solid Waste Management Advisory Board, a division of the Kaysinger-Basin Regional Planning Commission.
Meredith Recycling, despite being a small-time company in the waste industry, has made our mark on many community aspects and events.
We have supported schools with donated vehicles for emergency response teams to use during drills as well as donating funds so Immaculate Conception Church could hold an all you can eat Labor Day dinner which provides food service for those who cannot afford it or need assistance paying.
In addition, Meredith Recycling has assisted area schools and youth clubs with recycling fundraisers.
